Important information about our skip hire services
The following items CANNOT be disposed of in our skips due to environmental and safety regulations.
Plasterboard: Plasterboard is allowed but must not exceed 10% of the skip's total capacity. This is due to special disposal requirements.
Important information about where your skip can be placed
If you have a front garden, driveway, or other private land, we can place the skip there without any permit required.
If the skip needs to be placed on a public road or pavement, a council permit is required. We can arrange this for you.
Off-Highway Placement: When a skip is left in a place other than on the public highway, Star Skips accepts no responsibility for any damage to the ground or any underground service pipes or cables. This includes but is not limited to driveways, gardens, and private land.
Safe Access: Please ensure that the delivery vehicle has a safe and clear route to the skip placement location. This includes adequate access width and overhead clearance for our vehicles.
Indemnification: The customer agrees to indemnify Star Skips against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the placement of skips on private property, including but not limited to damage to surfaces, structures, or underground utilities.
Loading Guidelines: Do not overload the skip. Waste must not exceed the top of the skip. Overloaded skips may incur additional charges and may not be collected until the excess waste is removed.
Standard hire period is up to 2 weeks. Extended hire periods can be arranged - please contact us to discuss your requirements. Additional charges may apply for extended hire periods.
Payment is required upon delivery unless otherwise agreed. We accept all major credit/debit cards, bank transfer, and cash. Business accounts can be arranged for regular customers.
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery time. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may incur a cancellation fee.
Skips have weight limits for safe transport. Heavy materials such as soil, rubble, and concrete should be declared at the time of booking. Overweight skips may incur additional charges.
While the skip is on your property, you are responsible for its security and any damage caused by third parties. Star Skips is not liable for any damage to property caused by third parties accessing the skip.
